Photo Assignment 2: Still Life9/30/2019 This is my submission for our second photo assignment. I chose still life as my topic and the subject is my phone with water poured on it. s Aperture: f/5.0 Shutter Speed: 1/4000s ISO: 2500 I did a fair amount of editing including, removing distraction in the background, saturating the colors, desaturating the background and everything else, some color modification, and a vignette. I learned a lot about setting up a shot and Photoshop. I learned how to use the clone stamp tool in Photoshop and brushes in Lightroom. I had fun editing these pictures as they turned from dull pictures into really cool photos.

Photoshop Assignment 1: Pop Art9/26/2019 The purpose of this assignment was to get us started in Photoshop for the first time and get us used to it. It was a very simple assignment. I learned how to create this specific effect and how Photoshop works. I learned a little bit about the effects certain tools have on the image. We leaned how to manipulate a photo to look completely different form the original.
Photo Inspiration 29/24/2019 For my next photo assignment, I plan to shoot picture of flowers for macro. These images show exactly what I want to do, and I think I can recreate these photos with the flowers in my front yard.
Photo Assignment 1, Nature9/23/2019 The purpose of this assignment was to choose a subject and take a photo of it. It tested our ability to use our skills in composition and skill in working a camera. It also tested our ability to critique our own photos and see our own mistakes to help pick our best photos. Aperture: f/1.7 Shutter Speed: 1/140s ISO: 100 I did some simple editing which included pumping up vibrance and saturation to make the color pop. I learned that setting up a good background is harder than it looks. In a neighborhood, there's a lot going on in the background. I need to put a bit more effort in finding a good backdrop for my subject. But I also learned if the background is blurred enough, it won't draw as much attention. My favorite part of this assignment was definitely editing; it was very cool to see all the colors pop as I turned up vibrance and saturation.
Photo Inspiration 19/19/2019 For my first photo assignment, I chose still life. I hope to improve my composition and editing skills through this.
These images do a great job of showing perspective. I love how his editing made certain colors pop and how he made the environment look completely different. Shutter/Aperture9/16/2019 Shutter 1/2 1/10 1/100 1/200 Slower shutter speeds show motion while faster shutter speeds freeze motion. In the first picture with 1/2 shutter speed, you can see that the water is moving and looks a little blurred out. In the last picture with 1/200 shutter speed, you can see every single water drop clearly. Aperture f/5.6 f/8.0 f/13.0 f/36.0 A smaller f number corresponds with a larger aperture and a smaller depth of field with more bokeh. The first picture with f/5.6 has a sharp foreground with the keyboard clearly visible while the Rubik's cube and mouse are out of focus and blurry. The last picture with f/36.0 has everything shown clearly and you can see the details on the Rubik's cube and mouse. A fast shutter speed freezes motion in an image.
A slow shutter speed will show motion in an image. A large aperture will let in more light, have a small depth of field, and have more bokeh. A small aperture will let in less light and have a large depth of field with everything in focus. Composition9/6/2019 We did this assignment to demonstrate our learning of basic composition techniques. This assignment also helped us get familiar with the basics of using a camera. In this assignment, I learned how to use various composition techniques and their effects on photos. I went from simply taking quick snapshots to spending a little more time and effort in setting up my photographs. I learnt that just a little preparation can go a long way to help improve a photo. It was fun to see my photos instantly come to life.AuthorWrite something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview. ArchivesCategories |
